VT News: Fire in Plainfield VT ruled arson CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: New Haven, Vermont SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 11/02/13 at approximately 0620 hrs the Plainfield Fire Department responded to 1976 Country Club Road in the Town of Plainfield for a reported fire in a garage. The fire was quickly suppressed by the tenants who had found the fire and was then completely extinguished by responding fire units. No one was injured as a result of the incident. The damage was estimated at approximately $2,000 dollars. Due to the suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire a request was made to the Vermont State Police Fire Investigation Unit for an origin and cause investigation. On 11/02/13 a member of the Vermont State Police Fire Investigation Unit as well as an Investigator with the Division of Fire Safety responded to the scene to complete this investigation. Based on the results of this investigation the Fire Investigation Team concluded that the fire cause was Incendiary/Arson. Anyone with information about the fire is urged to contact: Sgt.
