Vance Garcia update: September 23rd is approaching. It will mark the 1 month anniversary of his car accident (when he was reborn) and his 24th birthday. Vance is a fighter and has accomplished so much. His trach size went down, and he has access to a speaking valve. At the same time as his rediscovered voice, we are weaning him off the heavy pain meds. This combination has created some very interesting conversations. He remembers people and events, but is still mixing things up. Weve been told it will take time for hospital brain to put everything back in order. He desperately wants to get out of the hospital, and we are working on moving him to a sub acute facility where he can get lots of physical therapy. Thank you, again, for all your prayers and support, it has brought us more comfort than you can imagine. Please pray that he starts feeling his left leg and gains mobility for his left side. Also that he remains positive, hes going through so much.
