Vanguard of EW Troop arriving in Cyprus to sort out the Turks in 1974. The tough looking guy is Tom Hannon. He and the rest of the troop scuttled off up Troodos, while me and Bill Owens went to the sharp end at 9. They must have thought we were important, because a Hercules was laid on to fly us down to Dhekelia. We then set up at the back of Pergamas Camp for a week or so, and then down to 9. I seem to remember BFBS Radio always playing When will I see you again, requested by the wives who had been sent home.
