They were happy to see Vitezslav Vesely right with first throw improving his season best to 86.94 and adding 85.22 before quitting. "I still feel my achilles, the weather and the fact that I will compete on Thursday in Oslo supported my decision not to throw more," said Vesely. Poster girl Zuzana Hejnova won easily the 400m hurdles 54.55 but the time could have been much faster, she lost the right rhythm at the last hurdle. Pavel Maslak fulfilled the expectations with 45.40 win in rain, second Jarrin Solomon of Trinidad 45.51. Olympic medalist Raphael Holzdeppe cleared 582 meet record and beat Jan Kudlicka 570. Briton James Dasaolu added another meet record in 100 m heat 10.08 also a PB and due to rain and cold weather did not run the final, won by another Briton Joel Fearon 10.33 (+0.7) ahead of Jamaican Sheldon Mitchell 10.35. Ethiopian Soresa Fida won the memorial event, the 1500m in 3:37.23. Porter family celebrated two wins, Tiffany in women hurdles 13.00 (+0.4) and Jeff men hurdles 13.38 (+0.5, second Briton William Sharman years fastest 13.44). British win also for Richard Yates at 400 m hurdles 49.90. Another meet record for Luis Rivera of Mexico who leaped in difficult conditions to high quality 810 (+0.8), JJ Jegede from Great Britain 793 (+0.7). Poland won both relays in 39.30 and 43.83 MR. Italian Margherita Magnani won the 1500 m in 4:09.85 when top 8 were within one second. High jumping women suffered in wet conditions, Nadezda Dusanova of Uzbekistan cleared 186 to win on count-back over Mirela Demireva of Bulgaria. European indoor champion Christina Schwanitz dominated the shot put with 19.94.
