Vetspecs needs a full time nurse! Vetspecs, the South Island’s only Specialist Surgical Veterinary Centre, requires a Qualified Veterinary Nurse with a minimum of one year’s experience to be a fulltime member of our growing surgical team. Vetspecs provides advanced specialist surgical expertise, enabling us to give the best possible care and choice for our patients and their owners. Our ethos is one of true compassion from a skilled and supportive team that really cares. The Vetspecs nursing team is fully qualified and experienced in providing the level of treatment expected at a specialist facility. They play an integral role in all aspects of the surgical care of our patients and our clients. This includes active involvement in scrubbed surgical assistance, anaesthesia, fluid therapy, pre-emptive and proactive pain management, theatre supply and maintenance, radiography, advanced imaging (MRI, CT), radiotherapy and owner counselling. Ongoing continuing professional development is encouraged and provided in order to maintain our delivery of the most up-to-date animal care. We require a person to cover Mondays to Fridays from 10.00am to 6.30pm. In addition, we will require some ‘on-call’ cover for weekends. Given the imponderables of clinical work, there will be some days requiring overtime. We have a friendly, team approach to patient care.
