Visited andamans. Most inspiring of all (including breathtaking pristine sea beaches, limestone caves, lush green jungles) was the visit to the cellular jail. The lonely corridors, dingy rooms, gloomy exceution room puts you in a time warp. This is the place where hundreds of freedom fighters were tortured mercilessly. Many died in the process. You however feel that their bodies were wrecked but the souls remained intact. They gave their lives for something that we cannot even undersatnd these days. The irony is that as you climb to the roof top, you can see the wide expanse of ocean which marks a sense of profoundness and freedom. However just below the roof, in those small cells, a single glimmer of light, echoes of the faded ocean waves was all that these great sons had in the form of hope. If you stand in the courtyard and feel the ancient, long forgotten murmurs, you will understand that what we do today or the life we lead is so much minsicule and insignificant compared to what these people did in their prime.
