Vocalist Nancy Harms puts together a winning disc with Aaron - TopicsExpress

Vocalist Nancy Harms puts together a winning disc with Aaron Parks/p, John Hart/g, Danton Boller/b and RJ Miller/dr on a mix of well chosen covers and impressive originals. She feels like a throwback to the days of 70s singer/songwriters on clever pieces such as “Weight of the World” and “Out of Comfort” with a rich choice of topics and rhymes. She has an attractively conversational delivery, best heard on a take of “Mood Indigo” as well as a personal feel on “Never Let Me Go” that serves well with the intimate guitar work provided by Hart. Her duet with Parks on “It Could Happen to You” will get you hot under the collar, while her delivery of “Midnight Sun” has her voice shine like bright red lip gloss. An interpretation of Satie’s “Gymonpedie” is a clever choice, with Parks and Hart taking full advantage of the delectable situation. Rich and filling, with no aftertaste (Jazz Weekly)
