Voice Mail The first thing we do each morning at EFIA is check our voice mail for our Crisis Assistance line. Over the past two weeks we have average 10 voice mails per day. This does not include all the calls taken during our work day The calls include: * Just lost my job and I am a single mother with three small children * My wife is taking chemo and we have gotten behind on our rent * My 14 year old daughter has another tumor and we need help to go to UVA * We were in a car wreck three weeks ago and cant pay our rent, * We had a house fire three months ago and the temporary housing cost has gotten us behind on our electric bill * My arm was crushed at work and my employer didnt have workers comp. I need help with my rent. * I have been moved from full time to part time and I can no longer pay all my bills. EFIA is on pace to spend over $150,000 this year to help those in crisis. Year to date, 70% of these families have never received financial assistance before. In November, over 1,000 families came to EFIAs food pantry and each was helped with a Thanksgiving turkey or ham. Your gifts allow EFIA to help these families in crisis. Thank you.
