Volunteers needed for community cleanup of Rancho San Rafaels Off Leash dog area Reno, Nevada. March 10, 2014. The large multi-use pasture area located at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park, also commonly known as the “off leash” dog area, gets more than its fair share of usage on any given day. Its popularity is apparent by the neglected dog waste, escaped plastic bags, and chewed up tennis balls left behind. Park Rangers are asking for the public’s help to do a sweep of the pasture area in preparation of warmer days ahead. Meet at 5 p.m. in the parking lot of the upper pasture entrance Thursday, March 13 for the first cleanup of the season. Plastic bags, latex gloves, and shovels will be provided and four legged friends are welcome.
