Vote tomorrow. As usual, Ill be tight in the pocket book on most of the bonds. Im not big on party lines and so Ill choose my people based on who they are (or seem to be) as people. Theres only one major candidate I know personally to have integrity, intelligence, a willingness to compromise, and genuine kindness (hi Emily Cain) and shes got my support tomorrow. And Im going to vote NO on the famous question one and keep our bear hunting as-is until someone crafts a restriction law that isnt ridiculously overdone. Ill gladly vote against dogs and traps later when theyre not bundled in with a method thats a gigantic economic generator for people I personally know and areas I visit regularly. I can say that those guys who drive 20 hours to get a bear may be harvesting rather than hunting but their money is good and baiting helps to keep that money coming into Maine rather than going to someplace closer and more convenient. Theres lots of propaganda, some of it even meritorious, but its really throwing out baby and bathwater in the current form. So - please consider a NO until a better law is proposed. And thats my political rant for the election.
