WCGA to Honor Pioneer Families of Warren County-McMinnville In connection with July having been designated as Genealogy & History Month in Tennessee, the Warren County Genealogical Association is honoring Pioneer Family descendants with Certificates of Proof that their ancestors were here at the time Warren County was formed or within a few years thereafter. To qualify for a certificate (suitable for framing), the applicant must directly descend from an ancestor (male or female) who was in Warren County no later than the 1820 census (this includes the boundaries of the original formation of Warren County from White County). Proof can be established by submitting copies of an official record – e.g., birth, marriage, death, probate or will, church, cemetery, funeral or obituary, census, newspaper, or Bible - for each generation, including the applicant. Current Tennessee residency is not necessary. Applications approved before June 29, 2013, can receive their certificates at the official ceremony of Warren County-McMinnville Pioneer Families to be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. at the WCGA office, Warren County Administration building, 201 Locust Street, McMinnville. There is a $10 application fee. $3.50 should be added if you cannot attend the ceremony and the certificate is to be shipped to you. All applications and verifying material become the property of Warren County Genealogical Association. Applications may be obtained by downloading the attached form (shown below) on our Facebook page and should be submitted to WCGA Pioneer Families, P. O. Box 411, McMinnville TN 37111-0411.
