WCHE NEWS - The Coatesville Area School Board voted unanimously to authorize new Solicitor, Michael Levin, to file lawsuits against former Superintendent Richard Como and former Athletic Director Jim Donato for damages incurred by the district during their tenure. Levin explained he will file a Praecipe for Issuance of a Writ of Summons today in Chester County Court which notifies both defendants of the suit. Levin explained the suit revolves in part around the concept of “Tone at the Top” which alleges that the two failed to promote ethical considerations and discouraged the report of wrongdoing. When asked if he was considering filing lawsuits against any other current or former District employee or board member, Levin answered “maybe.” Superintendent Dr.Cathy Taschner announced that she directed all district issued cell phones be collected for an independent spot check by the Chester County Intermediate Unit’s I.T. department for any inappropriate information.
