Whitley County 34 • WCMS FOOTBALL: Congratulations on their victories last night over Glasgow! • WCMS BOYS BASKETBALL: 6TH & 7TH GRADE Basketball Try-Outs will be Friday after school till 5:00 @ the High School Gym. • BUS EVACUATION: Friday, Oct. 3 @ 2:45 • MIDDLE SCHOOL CHOIR (Through 21st Century): If you missed the audition this week, we will hold one more, today, Oct 1st, after school. All Choir members leave when they call for 21st Century and go to the cafeteria to get your snack. Mrs. Rose will pick you up from there. Please try to not be picked up earlier than 5:15 if at all possible! • HAUNTED HOUSE: The WC High School Beta Club will be hosting a Haunted House at the old preschool building on Oct. 10, Oct. 17, and Oct. 24 from 6-10 pm. Admission is $3 per person. • FCA T-SHIRTS: Anyone wanting to order a Middle School FCA shirt, please take your money to Mrs. Jessica Gossage. All checks made out to DP Special Teez • WCMS GT NEWS: • Today, Wednesday Oct. 1, 8th grade GT will meet from 8:15 – 9:12 in the GT Classroom. • Recycling: Gifted and Talented: The Wayne County Gifted & Talented Program is participating in the FundingFactory Recycling Program. We will be collecting empty toner/ink jet cartridges, cell phones, small electronics, and laptops from our schools and the community and sending the waste products to FundingFactory during the 2014-2015 school year. . Box is located upstairs in the teacher work room. Funding Factory allows us the opportunity to earn money while we recycle. This years fundraising efforts will support the GT middle school/high school students as they travel to Puerto Rico in the spring. fundingfactory • Scrap Metal Recycling GT Fundraiser When: Saturday, Oct 18th Time: 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Where: WC Maintenance Garage (Across from wchs) What: Household scrap metal – possible items: Air conditioners, aluminum cans, metal boats, bikes, brass items, cars car parts, batteries, copper, gym equipment, lawn mowers, radiators, stainless steel, bed frames, bicycles, car jacks, basketball hoops, carriages and strollers, cast iron tubs, garage door openers, golf clubs, fans, metal file cabinets, mail boxes, gutters, washers, dryers, range goods, stoves, toaster ovens, heaters, freezers, hot water heaters, humidifiers, ironing boards, ladders, storm doors, lamps, tire rims, refrigerators, metal drums, mopeds, metal shelving shovels, grills, & pots and pans. Business and farm scrap metal – possible items: tractors and related equipment, tools, filing cabinets, signs, ladders, nails, staples, storage bins, metal chairs and desks, pipes, troughs, spigots, metal drums, wheelbarrows, metal buckets, oil and propane tanks, wagons, water tanks, metal sheds, buses, caravans, highway trailers, construction equipment & excavators. Saturday Mornings from 10 – 12:30 @ Briar Bowl Lanes & Restaurant in Somerset. Price is $10 which includes 3 games, shoes and a drink. There will be 2 Divisions: Jr. (3rd to 5th grades) & Sr. (6th to 12th grades). Instruction from league bowlers. Call to sign up or just stop by.
