I think that most of you dont understand how the world of talent (music, sport, athletics, poetry, debate, drama, culture dance, etc) works! You just want your students to be as great as Messi or Chris Chali or better without understanding the hard work and perseverance and INJUSTICE one has to endure to break through and gain recognition. Most of you teachers really think it comes easy. No wonder you can sometimes feel like quitting when you encounter such difficulties. Take time to read the life stories of the stars; Messi, Will Smith, Beyonce, Denzel, the Beetles, Oprah, JK, Macky 2, etc. They will give you perspective of how being WRITTEN OFF by some big judges is actually PART of being GREATLY TALENTED. And the only way to go beyond such heart-breaking disappointment is DO NOT QUIT!!! The same people who wrote you off always come back to worship you. So, stay in the game. Learn it. Learn the system. Get to know the decision makers. Let the people who matter know you and your great talent exists way before they even get to see that great talented pupil in action. When you visit town for holidays, visit media houses like Daily Mail, Times [of Zambia], etc. Get contacts for sports writers, speak to them and tell about this gem of a footballer in Shangombo.... Just do whatever [possible] to meet the people who can help your talented pupils.
