......WE NEED EACH OTHER..... Having closely followed with keen interest the political imbroglio as it unfolds in Balanga/Billiri federal constituency, the most contentious and talked about candidature has always been that of Hon. ALI ISAH J.C (MAKAMAN CHAM) the PDP candidate for the house of Reps. Ever since he emerged as the PDP flag bearer, many sentimental opinions have been traded by some microscopic few, who are against his candidature. It is a known fact that Hon. ALI ISAH J.C is originally from Balanga LGA, from Cham chiefdom to be precise. Who has every right to vie for any political office accrued to the indigenes of that constituency. Tangale-Waja as a multy-ethnic community comprising many tribes, definitely needs each other to stand united. Let me take us a little down the memory lane. In the past, Billiri LGA had Senator T.U Wada( of blessed memory) and Hon. Charles Iliya as a member house of reps, yet nobody from any tribe in Balanga did complain. Now Billiri has the state PDP Chairman and the would be deputy governor, yet nobody is complaining from Balanga. Billiri is still having the highest federal appointment, the special adviser to mister President, yet nobody is complaining in Balanga. Why, because it is turn by turn. Balanga once had its own fair share of opportunities too. Hon. Ali Isah J.C was SSA on MDGs to the governor and he served very well. Now,In as much as we need each other for progress and unity, the scripture says: two cannot walk together unless they agree. We must therefore not seek to resort to politics of sentiments and blackmail because he is from Balanga. If the worse of all people from Billiri will be given such an opportunity, none of those critics will complain. Is that patriotism? My brothers and sisters from Billiri, we must be ready to accommodate and support one another as a reciprocal. I wish to put it in clear terms that the good people of Balanga are very very much at home with Hon ALI ISAH J.Cs candidature, likewise the good people of Tangale are very very much at home with his candidature, except some microscopic few naive sentimentalist, who are on a mission to disrupt the long standing cordial relationship we have always enjoyed from time immemorial. May they continue to fail like always. We should not allow unpatriotic, disgruntled and unscrupulous naive politicians to disunite us please. Let us continue to promote unity of purpose, as we stand by each other. We must acknowledge the fact that God has a reason for whatever happens under the sun. We must know that our unmistakable God gives power to whom He wills, at the appointed time. We must not be illusioned to think that we have the monopoly of sentiment. What if every other tribe decides to be bias and sentimental. We should see our diversity as a source of strength and not disunity. After all everyone came to where he is today by migration and not spontaneously. Our politics should be issue based such as; what does the person has to offer, what is his selling point, what are his previous achievements and not all those trivial and disgusting issues for goodness sake. Long live Balanga/Billiri fed. Constituency Long live Tangale-Waja Long live Gombe State
