WEDNESDAY, 10TH SEPTEMBER ACTIVATING REST FOR YOUR SOUL “Thus saith the LORD, stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall nd rest for your souls...” Jeremiah 6:16 There is an adage that “He who asks to be directed never misses his way.’’ How true! Almost everyone has at one time missed his way to a place because he had no guide; maybe it was to a funeral, marriage ceremony or any public function. Such an experience could be very frustrating and time wasting not to talk of the fatigue that could come with it. But it is detrimental when it occurs on one’s pathway to fulfilling destiny. The journey of life could be made short if certain mistakes could be avoided. He that is on that journey most of the time is not in the knowledge of potential pitfalls. But there are no new things in life; that which has been, is that which shall be. (Ecclesiastes 1:9). Therefore that which has befallen any man on a particular pathway of life, is likely to affect any that walks along the same path. That is why we need instructors and fathers in life. The text says “thus saith the LORD, stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.” From the text we understand that there is such a thing as a good way and on it does one find rest for his soul. He that misses it misses his own rest. But it can be found by asking. Definitely there are those who have walked the path you are trying to walk and those who have done what you are trying to do. You can take the stress out of your own life by asking those who have gone ahead of you. This is what the message is all about. Beloved of God, what junction have you reached on your journey in life and pathway to destiny? There is the right way which you can find by asking. Ask who has walked the path and accomplished such a feat and you shall find rest for your soul. Shalom! Assignment: Identify anyone who has gone ahead of you in your life’s assignment and learn of his ways. In it is your discovery of the good path and attainment of rest for your soul. Shalom! Ps. David
