WELL, that woke me up! Got in from the dance show, sat down and took off my shoes and suddenly a strange woman is hammering on the door. Get out...theres a fire in the building and the firemen want us outside. Got downstairs and discovered no one had called the building manager, called, by the time she got up here, the fireman had chopped the door of the apartment on the next floor open. Four trucks, one ambulance, one cop car and one supervisors car out front within seconds. Turns out the woman who was pounding on doors and calling the fireman was a cat sitter...a total stranger and she got us all out with kitty in hand. Kitty was NOT happening and meowing curse words. Being that it was raining we opted to stand in the basement instead of outside. The building smells a tad like whatever the teenage daughter in number 8 had put on the stove and then fell asleep. The firemen say she was a typical teen and snoring away when they arrived. She walked to the ambulance and the parents have got the ER visit, the ambulance and the door to pay for. NEVER LEAVE TEENAGERS ALONE! EVER! And I walked out with my keys and cell phone AND LEFT MY PURSE! Need fire drills, methinks. NOW I WILL GO TO BED.
