WHAT IF by Deirdre written in 1973 at the age of 11 for a 5th grade homework assignment. Annotated Reprint January 19, 2014 I was sitting here and the Lord reminded me of a poem that I wrote, or should I say a poem that He and I wrote when I was 11 years old. I want to share this poem with you. I wrote it in 1973 when I was 11 years old and it is entitled What If. Since that poem, I never wrote another. I realize now that it was my very first religious writing because it raises the question about the quality of being religious or reverent in a society where racism exists. The poem also raises the question of whether or not a person would be willing to grab hold of their dreams if they had to go where no man has ever gone to obtain them. For me the answer is yes. I am willing to go pass where no man has ever passed to obtain my dreams simply because I believe that all things are possible with God and I have God. What is also remarkable about this poem, or should I say what is remarkable about God is that He was telling me at age 11 that I was going to speak words -- the source of which was not going to originate from my head -- the words I speak today originate from God. As I have said many times over - prior to April 2013 I was a lay Christian who rarely went to church. In less than a year I have written 100s of sermons explaining phenomena about God that no one else has ever explained. This is why I am in awe with God and yet amazed a people in Christian leadership roles that refuse to acknowledge or seem disturbed by the fact that God is here and He is speaking to His people through me. THE POEM WHAT IF IS BELOW. What if the world were square, what would we all do there? Would we dance and sing and really do our thing? Or would we work and play as we do today? Or would we sit and gaze on all those lazy days? WHAT IF ALL WE SAID, WASNT REALLY IN OUR HEAD? Would we be as bold as to grab a hold to all the dreams held fast Where no man has ever passed? WHAT IF all were seen, as purple, pink and green? Would purple and green make a really big scene because of pink being able to think that he is just as good as all the others should? Would pink begin to think that all the other colors really werent his brothers? Just because hes a different shade, he wasnt really made for our society and all the piety of our world?
