***WHAT IS IT YOU DO TO LOSE WEIGHT?*** Well my theory is veeeeerrrry simple really... I DO NOT diet. If I diet, I WILL EAT ALL THE CRAP IN THE WORLD! Seriously! I will track it all down and EAT IT!! Tell me I cant have it, and I want it with every fibre in my being. So heres what I do: I eat from the earth as much as I possibly can. Anything that is unprocessed, untainted, natural and especially organik goes! I know that it is not possible to do that 100% of the time, because processed food is all around us and it is easily available and it last longer in our cupboards, so financially it also makes sense to have processed food in our houses. I still eat processed foods. I look at HOW processed it is, and if it is too processed, I dont eat it. If it is just slightly processed, Im bound to feel more comfortable eating it. I eat it in moderation and I try to stay with my earthly foods as much as possible. I also read up on things. I know to keep my carbs to a miminum and to increase my fat in take. I dont do it to the extremes I have seen people do it, but I do it in my own way. Now you probably wonder how I deal with stuff like sweets? easy! Most of the sweets out there are not worth the processed crap and calories they contain, so I just dont eat them. I cannot really enjoy them anymore, because of all the nonsense I know I am putting in my body when I eat that sweet. So when I want a sweetie, I ask myself if its worth it. 9 out of 10 times the answer is no. and then I pass on them and rather grab a sweet fruit. (which is much sweeter to me now that I have stopped eating so much crap) I refuse to deny myself what I want though. for instance, right now I am craving one nice hunka chunka coconut rolled donut! Usually the craving goes away, and then I dont have one. but, like with this craving, it has been around for a good couple of days now, and when I crave something for days on end, I have it! why? because if I dont have it, if I deny myself, then I will eat a whole donut shop!! and if you are in the donut shop, be careful because i will probably eat you too! I do not have any not allowed foods! because I dont need to make these rules that keep me from eating something. I want to be the decision maker. I want to be in control of my destiny, because one day you will stop dieting and then what? who is going to tell you what NOT to eat then? I have made that mistake many of times before, enough to know that it never ever works for me So to recap: *Eat from the earth (natural, organik, unprocessed products) *keep processed food as unprocessed as possible, and to a miminum *ask yourself if your treats are worth the chemicals and calories. if they are, eat it (moderately) if not, choose a healthier option. *dont deny yourself things that your body is craving. I dont diet, because this is a LIFETIME LIFESTYLE change! I dont intend to go back to my old eating habits ever again! Therefore, DIETING is not necessary. I also exercise, as much as I want, when I want. the trick isnt to stay on a program for me, the trick for me is to motivate myself and make the decision myself that I will be exercising. my focus and discipline (or lack there of at times) comes from within me (and yes I do draw from all of you too), and not what a piece of paper says. YES, my progress may be slower than the person on a strict diet. but mine is not about just losing the weight, mine is about retraining my brain to live a healthy life FOREVER! the weight will come off anyway, so Im not too stressed about it. Please do note that I dont intend to bash anyone who chooses to be on a diet. I respect them. Anything is better than nothing. If you are on a diet, please know that I am totally rooting for you! I just know that it never works for me (because of the person that I am and the personality that I have)
