Job Description As the General Managers of Golf courses you are responsible for the successful and profitable operation of all aspects of the course and its associated facilities. WHAT WE NEED • A Bachelors Degree in Management, Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related field. • You must have good interpersonal skills to deal with employees, Club Members, Golf Professionals and members of the public using the course. • Excellent analytical and financial skills to develop and monitor budgets so that the course operates at a profit. • Must have marketing and customer service skills to attract and retain members of private clubs or customers of public courses. • Have the ability to be familiar with the practical and financial aspects of managing golf course facilities, including pro shops, restaurants, clubhouse and the course itself. • As a General Managers hire, train and manage full-time and part-time employees to run golf course operations. • Ability to oversee Golf course, who deal with the practical aspects of building, developing and maintaining the course. • You are also responsible for greens keepers and the employees who work in the shops or restaurants. • General Manager is responsible for building membership. • Set the fees for membership, create promotional material to attract and communicate with members, and develop plans to improve facilities for members. • As a General Manager, aim to maximize the number of paying customers. • Have the ability to offer customers attractions such as driving ranges or professional lessons. • Ability to promote the facilities through advertising, and they organize tournaments to attract visiting golfers and create public interest.
