WHEN THE SCRIPTURE SAYS NEW CREATURE Many believers live out their lives on earth without ever venturing into the very threshold of the riches of the mystery of Christianity. Many enter into the new life with a lot of baggage or carry-overs from the old life IN THEIR MINDS. Because a man is as he thinks, they continue life as before, not aware of the vast changes that have taken place in them and in their lives. 2 Corinthians 5:17 is very powerful, it is a scripture worthy of all acceptation, it says, Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new. Lets break it down: ..If any man... This is not just for some select few, anyone can answer the call of salvation and come into His marvellous light. ...be in Christ... Christ is a person as well as a spiritual geographical place, a man is either in Christ or somewhere else spiritually. We live in Him and have our movements and our very existance in Him. (Acts 17:28) ...he is a new creature... This is not a future truth which will come to pass in a sweet by and by, it is a NOW-TRUTH. If you are in Christ you are not like Adam, you are not like natural men, you are not like the sinful old creature - you are a new creature. The Greek construction here suggests that you are new not only in QUALITY but also in RESENCE; you are a creature that has never existed before, not a clean version of the old, but a brand new straight-from-the-Creator-creature. Moreover, no creature has ever existed in Christ prior to this dispensation of grace, so it can not be true that we are refurnished in Him. No sir! We are recreated. We were first Created in the world, now we are created in Him: For we are his workmanship CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS... (Ephesians 2:10). We are no cleansed sinners we are created after God ...in righteousness and true holiness. (Ephesians 4:24). That is another way of saying that we are created both holy and righteous. We are not free from sin, thats a misnomer, we were created sin-free. Ephesians 2:10 from the Amplified Translation says that we have been created anew to live the good life He prepared for us in Christ. God is wise, we are His best creation. James 1:18 calls us the firstfruits of his creatures. The first fruit was the first and the best of the produce, we can deduce that we are the first and the best of His creatures. We are first class, the first species of us, and the best out of all that God has created. 1 Peter 2:9 calls us a PERCULIAR (special, unique) people, a chosen generation (race, species of being, breed), an holy nation (an ethinic group of holy people), a royal priesthood (a species of kings and priests). Wow! So much to say about this new creation. The Lord has said glorious things about us in His holy word. ...old things have passed away... Paul found it difficult to express this truth because of the infirmity of their minds. Their minds were not new: they still had strong memories of the old life and of the old creature. Even though you become a new creation, your body and mind remain unchanged, this is because it is the spirit that becomes a new creature. Man is a spirit he has a soul and he lives in a body. The spirit is the real you, the soul is where you have your will, emotions and mind, and the body is your house. The mind because it does not become a new creature, it must be RENEWED - you must replace the thoughts of the old creature with the thoughts of the new, only then can you start living the new creation life (Romans 12:2); your body must be subjected to the Lordship of the word and must be offered as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1). So what Paul is saying here is this, even though you still remember your old life and your old ways of doing things, and still think the way you used to think, you are not what you used to be, all the things you remember are passed away - they are not real - they are thoughts which must be deleted and replaced with the new because all things have now become new. ...BEHOLD ALL things are become new... catch the picture, things are not the way they used to be, you are not what you were, you are new, SEE yourself this way, see that the curses have passed away and the blessings have come (Ephesians 1:3), see that your poverty has passed away and your riches have come (2 Corinthians 8:9), see that you are the possessor of all things now (1 Corinthians 3:21-23), see that your old nature and life has passed away you are now a partaker of the divine life and the divine nature (John 10:10; 2 Peter 1:4)... Many have not seen, and so they keep on living the way they used to. They know not neither do they understand, and so they walk on in darkness. The programing of their minds is outdated. That is why i tell Christians get the word, they need a good REPROGRAMING of mind. When the Scripture says new creature it means new creature. This is not a creation created on the 6 day in Genesis 1, but a creation created on the resurrection day of our Lord... Embrace your new self. Find out everything you need to about your new self. Get to the word and let God introduce you to the new you. Have a kalos day. I love you all.
