WHO INSPIRES BAKES BUSINESS JOURNEY? By Robert Bake Tumuhaise (MD, World of Inspiration) Besides my mentor Patrick Bitature, there are other key figures who have influenced my business journey in ways I cannot even begin to describe. They include the humble James Abola, a friend whose financial advice has taken me thousands of miles ahead. If you havent read his book; MAKE SENSE OF YOUR MONEY, youve missed out all the secrets to digging yourself out of poverty. When I read this book, I was able to cut down my expenditure by half, without changing my lifestyle, and you know what that translates to - less stress and a happier life. Another great friend, Joel Bellenson, a Jewish scientist whose family owns the biggest private hospital in Israel, simply fascinates me with his wit. He is a man who learned to code at 4 years of age and created a video program at a tender age. At a later point, he created a drug using a computer program and made over 400 million dollars from it, an amount that 99% of Ugandans might never make in their lifetime. He lost all that money and picked up the pieces. He made it again and is now a multimillionaire, yet very humble. In simple terms, he has learnt how to create ideas and how to turn those ideas into money, a secret you and I have to either learn or learn. Then there is this young amazing entrepreneur Ortega Ian, another friend of mine, who, despite being 10 years younger than me inspires me more than many who are 40 years older than me. He started out his journey of entrepreneurship at 19 years of age by co-founding BigEye.Ug, a website that has won multiple awards for being the best and most entertaining website in Uganda.Talk of turning ideas into money! Millions now flow into his pocket simply because of his good idea that he acted on. Ortegas success is evidence that one can start with nothing but an idea (stop crying over lack of capital to begin). You can start from anywhere (does running a website even require an office?) and yet mint big monies that some people have never even dreamt about. The above three enterpreneurs (James, Bellenson and Ian) will be joining me to debate on the topic TURNING IDEAS INTO MONEY at the Authors Forum which will be happening at the National Theatre on Wednesday 5th Nov, starting 5:30pm. At a discounted fee of 35k, you can call me on 0704666851 or Winnie Zose Bake on 0774107287 and secure your ticket today. We are tired of seeing Ugandans live and die with great ideas untapped. And let no one dare say he/she has no ideas that can generate big money. If you have a brain you can think; if you can think you can generate ideas; and if you can generate ideas you can earn from them. All you need are the keys to turning those ideas into money - exactly what we shall be giving you on 5th Nov. If you leave behind your friends and family members, that will be so mean of you. Come with a notebook and pen because by the end of the debate you will have written your business plan. All your questions will be answered and you will be able to weigh your good ideas against bad ones and come out with the best that will bring you money and also help you impact society. The Authors Forum is brought to you by WORLD OF INSPIRATION: Making Excellence your Habit! What a way to begin the second last month of the year!
