WHY rock the north? Because not one of the 10 Northern Ontario ridings is held by a Liberal and we need to change that if the people of the north are going to have a strong voice in the coming government. The employment, environmental and First Nations issues that will be coming to the fore with the pending development of the north cannot be left to opposition members to negotiate, or to government members who are not from the area. Similarly, the servicing of this development and the processing of the materials have potential to create significant economic opportunity for all northerners: it is not enough for us to be in the room — we need to be at the table. And we get there by having strong, well organized EDAs.
