•WICKEDNESS: Neighbour Bathes Nursing Mother With Hot Water A nursing mother, Bukky Sharif, was on Monday bathed with hot water by her neighbour over access to tap. Bukky who sustained burns on her chest and back from the incident said an argument ensued between her and a neigbour after her neighbour tried to jump the queue for fetching water. She explained that her neighbour who was supposed to fetch water after her turn, defied the procedure and attempted to fetch before her turn. I reminded her that it was my turn, but all in vain, then I left the scene when she insisted, and even challenged me to stop her if I could. I left the place and came back to my room, but before I entered, she followed me and hit me with a pot. Other fellow tenants intervened, while my eight months baby was taken by my other neighbour, apparently to save it from any trouble, because the woman had tried to grab my babys neck during the fight. I was heading to the tap to fetch the water thereafter, when she approached me again and poured the hot water over my body, Bukky said. The husband of the victim, Sharif Olayigo, a driver, lamenting over the incident said their eight month-old-baby, was forced into feeding on baby food alone, as the mother could no longer breast feed the baby, adding that he took his wife to A Division Suleja police station, where he reported the matter, before they proceeded to a traditional burns healer in town, where she is now receiving treatment. The accused escaped before the matter could be reported to the police and is now at large. Confirming the incident, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) A Division Suleja, said they are still looking for the accused person, who remains at large as at the time of filing the report. NAIJ
