Waking up this morning, I only thought of all the things wrong with my dear nation Nigeria, PHCN did not help matters either. But suddenly something struck me, you do not think about your friends shortcomings on their birthdays, you only bless and wish them well So I decided to focus on the positives. Nigeria is not just a friend but a parent, heritage and my nation. In the face of malignant corruption, ethnic barriers, religious extremism, terror, etc. We still thrive in Unity! As aptly put by Maya Angelou, I personally believe that we are more alike than we are unalike And just like our parents, we do not choose the nations we originate from, but collectively, we can choose what originates from our land. Great things have been and is still being said of her in our Anthems, pledge, songs, etc. Therefore, it is our duty today to bless and wish her well! But more importantly, in our various capacities, lets think of a gift of a lifetime for her and be the change we seek! The land is GREEN! We must not let our skin colour rob her of that! Happy Independence!
