Walking to my car I see a man on a scooter (disabled folks kind) hes trying to pick up a box off the sidewalk with his crutches like giant chopsticks. So of course I ask him if I can help. He tells me about his life. Just like that. Hes 50+ was in an almost fatal motorcycle accident when he was 22. Hes lucky to be alive. He goes around cleaning up trash around his neighborhood. I feel like crying. Just another reminder that life is precious and people all around us have a lifetime of stories to share.
