This weekend I had the unique and amazing opportunity to share in the sisterhood that my mother has experienced with her Kappa Delta sisters for over 55 years. This group of Kappa Delta alumnae from Bowling Green State University have been gathering every year for the last 30 years, and prior to that gathered every 5 years, starting in 1963. All of the women in these photos were in the chapter in 1958 and have stayed connected since that time. With the exception of the days that my niece and nephew were born, I have never seen my mother happier than she was this weekend. Her lifelong connection to these women and to Kappa Delta were evident all weekend long. I was welcomed by these amazing women (all between the ages of 77 and 81) and their husbands (who all attend the annual gathering and have become great friends), and was overwhelmed by the amount of love they have for my mother and our family. I was in awe of the vast number of stories, memories, and laughter these women have shared since they first met my mother when she was just 19 years of age. If anyone doubts the power of sorority membership and the lifelong connection of sisterhood, they should spend time with these amazing women! This group truly embodies the Kappa Delta motto of Let us strive for that which is honorable, beautiful and highest #KappaDelta #Sisterhood
