Want to attend a Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) event? Below you will find a number of events you can register to attend. Please understand space may be limited and attendees will be selected at random. Those selected will receive confirmation. Attendees will be responsible for their own travel and accommodations unless otherwise communicated in the event description below. Select an event by state: ★ Alumni Only ★ Alumni and One Guest ★ Alumni and Guests ★ Alumni and Family Members ★ Family Members Only A rested, relaxed, and happy support system benefits all involved. If you are an Alumnus and have a person you rely on for support and encouragement please urge them to register for the WWP Family Support program. We can provide your loved one (a spouse, sibling, parent, etc.) with informational resources, a listening ear, and the opportunity to take a break and be with others who share similar experiences. They can register today by clicking here. Alumni Only MAR - NOV Ongoing Dates Run 2 Somewhere - Southeast Region Fact: One billion pairs of running shoes are sold worldwide each year. Fact: Running burns 50 percent more calories than walking. Fact: You want to be a runner but youre not sure how to start. Nailed it. WWP is here to help you start running alongside your fellow WWP Alumni as part of the Run 2 Somewhere team. Those selected will receive coaching and assistance on training runs with the ultimate goal of running a marathon in the fall. With safe, proper training and motivated coaching, WWP will support you in becoming the runner you’ve always wanted to be. Fact: The oldest person to finish a marathon didnt start running until the age of 89. Its never too late for a new beginning! Click HERE to apply. Alumni and Guest MAR 18 TUE 7 - 9 pm Indoor Rock Climbing - Nashville, TN Mountaineers, O mountaineers! Whitman may not have been a climber, but he would have been if he went to this event! Join your fellow WWP Alumni for an introductory rock climbing class that will teach you safe and proper climbing techniques. Next month we will do an outdoor climbing option and you must attend at least one indoor event to be eligible to participate. Click HERE to apply. APR 6 SUN 12:30 - 5 pm Royals Baseball & WWP Brief - Kansas City, MO When former pro baseball player Jimmy Piersall decided to celebrate his one hundredth homerun by running around the bases backwards, everyone was amused but the coach who promptly gave him a pink slip for pulling such a stunt. When it comes to baseball, anything can happen and the Kansas City Royals want you and a guest cheering them onto greatness against the Chicago White Sox! Participants will receive a WWP Program Brief prior to the game so this is a great opportunity to bring either another WWP Alumni or a guest who hasnt been involved with WWP before. APR - JUN WEEKLY Various Times Introduction to Computer Technology Course - Online Back in the fifties when Star Trek first aired, fans were dazzled with gizmos and gadgets they never imagined would materialize. Now most of that space age technology is part of our everyday lives due to the advancement of computers. With the continuous spread of computers in a vast array of arenas, we cant afford to get left behind in the analog age by not knowing how to use these machines to their maximum capacity. WWP is offering Warriors and Family Support members an eight-week online course that will cover the fundamentals of personal computer use and IT career exploration. This course will also pave the way for participants to take more advanced IT classes leading to network or security certifications.
