Wanted to bring up the subject of finding your caloric baseline. It is important to find in order to determine your daily caloric and macronutrients allowance, which both must be correctly calculated in order to safely and effectively reach your goals. I think that many people forget that there really isnt a definite way to know your caloric expenditure. It takes a little trial and error to determine your maintenance calories. So the best way to find out, is do a little experiment with yourself. Determine your maintenance by multiplying your weight by a multiplier (this is covered in my book). Hit those calories every single day for two weeks, weigh yourself 2-3 times a week. It your weight remains constant (1lb fluctuation in either direction), you found your maintenance caloric intake. If you lose weight, you burn more daily than you were consuming and your baseline is higher that you originally guesstimated. If you gain weight, you burn less daily than you were consuming and your baseline is lower than you originally guesstimated. After your two week experiment, you can better decide what to do with your daily caloric intake and macronutrients. If you find out that your bodys ability to metabolize food is less than stellar, you can start the process of reverse dieting. If your metabolism is revving, you can eat more. Etc.
