Was just reading to my new book The Vintage Years of Airfix Box - TopicsExpress

Was just reading to my new book The Vintage Years of Airfix Box Art by the great Roy Cross. Made me a bit sentimental on the first kits I bought when I was young which were Airfix ones (built using my mums tools) brush painted with Humbrols and Revells oil paints. Cannot remember how good bad these kits were and how they felt to build. But one thing I remembered quite well, I re-read the Airfix catalog 100s of times and am still impressed how dynamic and thrilling the box art was, particularly Roy Crosss. At HQ Hobbies we have quite a lot vintage kits particularly of American Muscle cars. Feel free to share your memories on the first scale model kits you built. What do you remember most, and what do you miss?
