Watch this video of my friend Patrick T J Kane speaking at the TEDxTeen Conference. Patrick suffered from Sepsis at 9 months old; he survived, but lost limbs. I figured I was luckier than him because I survived Sepsis with all my limbs intact, however Patrick would probably disagree with me. Most of my friends know that my question in any challenging situation is always “What’s the gift? “ I vehemently believe there is ALWAYS a gift and I so admire how Patrick not only identified and acknowledged the gifts that came from his bout with Sepsis but uses them for the greater good. Well done Patrick, very proud of you mate. “Above all, be the hero of your life, not the victim”
