We @FIRST are deeply saddened to hear this news. We have received word that two dear missionaries Lazaro and Pina Cruz, were killed in an automobile crash Mexico earlier today. They were involved in a head on crash and were killed instantly. Their daughter was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. We do not her name, or the extent of her injuries. We ask your prayers for their daughters healing and comfort for their son Jonathan, who was not with them at the time. Lazaro and Pina Cruz ministered in their homeland of Mexico in Doctor Arroyo, Nuevo Leon, (near San Luis Potosi.) Doctor Arroyo is a town of about 33,000 people. Lazaro preached at the Christian Church in the town of Doctor Arroyo as well as at a smaller Church in the town of San Juan about 45 minutes outside of town. In addition to preaching at San Juan in the morning and Doctor Arroyo in the evening, Lazaro held bible studies during the week, and operated a Christian camp. He will be remembered for his faithful trust in God and his love for his congregation. We have supported the Cruz family for over 20 years with our Mission Giving. Our own Ken Scott and others have stayed in their home and witnessed their impact for our Lord. Lazaro and Pina will be missed.
