We are at a moment in history when we have been called to speak - TopicsExpress

We are at a moment in history when we have been called to speak out against systematic racism and violence at the hands of the police. Supervisor John Avalos is bringing forth a resolution today at the Board of Supervisors meeting affirming the San Francisco Board of Supervisors commitment to equal justice under the law and the First Amendment right to protest, recognizing the United States’ broken and racially biased police and justice systems, and urging the Department of Justice, Congress, and President Obama to review national policing and judicial practices to truly bring equal justice under the law. What you can do: Come to todays Board of Supervisors meeting and speak in support of the resolution. If you cannot make it to the Board meeting, please call and/or email your Supervisor and express your support. Some Supervisors fear lessened police patrolling of their districts if they support the resolution. Please let them know that their silence equals violence.
