We are beside ourselves with sadness today. Our beloved Wheaten, Harv has been diagnosed with an incurable kidney disease and we wont have him very much longer. We left Harv over night at Angell Memorial for a second opinion and the doctors there concur with our vet. Harv has already lost 75% of his kidney function and there is no treatment. The prognosis is not good. We have him home and we are administering fluids intravenously daily and he has medication we give him to keep him comfortable. Right now you would not know how sick he is, but the worse is to come. Jack and I have made a decision that once Harv can no longer enjoy life to some extent, we will with love, euthanize him. We owe him that much not to let him suffer.
