We are fortunate to live in a community that has so many people who care and are dedicated to making the world a better place. Based on their stories, a commonality of attributes emerges: Doers are humble. Usually uncomfortable in the spotlight. Focused intensely on their committed work’s purpose. Able to recall, as if it were yesterday, a pivot time that served up their life-changing discovery. Universal in shifting the attention from them to their respective cause and the other involved participants. And thankful for the recognition, though it’s unnecessary.
