We are hiring! And it’s not faking news. Faking News is looking for a junior editorial staff. The nature of the job will be editorial and will require coordination with the senior editorial staff (they exist) at Faking News. Responsibilities: Moderating FN 2.0 (user submissions) i.e. approving pending and eligible submissions and shortlisting those that can be considered for publication/promotion on the mainstream Faking News. Helping in managing social pages, and of course, writing articles if and when an idea strikes. Necessary qualification: Someone who has a sense of humor and a taste for it. Someone who has wasted enough time online on Twitter and Facebook (probably not orkut, as you might be a bit old enough and this profile suits a college fresher. However, don’t feel restrained due to this); someone who understands what makes people ‘like’ or ‘retweet’ something. Desired qualification: A degree in literature/journalism. Basically someone with decent language skills. We are not ruling out interested engineers though. Desired experience: Some experience in writing humor articles will be nice. This even includes tweeting PJs, if a humor blog or published posts are not there to showcase. Having been a contributor to FN 2.0 will be an added advantage. Location: It will be Mumbai based and will require coming to office regularly, even though technically you can do this from your laptop sitting in your couch and trolling Faking News from your fake Twitter handle from the other browser. Salary: It will be real, like the job, and in accordance with your profile.
