We are issuing a further appeal for information after a woman was killed in a collision on a busy city centre road in Aberdeen. The collision, which involved a white articulated lorry, occurred on King Street just after 9am on Monday 26 May 2014. Karen Gillanders, aged 41, tragically died at the scene. Officers are still keen to trace a female witness who is believed to have been near the area at the time of the incident. The woman is described as being of slim build, with long, dark straight hair. She was wearing a light-coloured - possibly green - dress, and carrying a dark-coloured shoulder bag as well as a white bag. Road Policing Inspector Ian Kirkwood said: We understand the female would have been walking towards the pedestrian crossing on the west pavement around the time of the collision and we are keen to speak to her to see if she saw anything or has any information. We would also still like to appeal to anybody else who was in the vicinity at the time the collision occurred to come forward. It may be a small piece of information that somebody holds, but this can be vital for our enquiries. Anybody with any information regarding the collision and who has not already spoken to police is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101.
