We are riders of the merkavah, the vehicle of divine - TopicsExpress

We are riders of the merkavah, the vehicle of divine manifestation. The merkavah is the mystery that carries all existence. It is the mystery that steers and guides all of us. The merkavah is the embrace of the four winds and the four breaths that emanate from the single primordial breath of God, which brings all into existence. It is what carries Am Yisrael and all peoples on the journey through life. Literally, merkavah means “that which carries.” In a sense, it means to be carried rather than to walk or run. It means to have faith that we will get there—wherever and whenever. Moshe was laying out the mystery of the spiritual path, which is to surrender to the mysterious merkavah energy fully and completely. Merkavulim are ones who are completely surrendered. They act and live in complete faith. At its highest octave, this is also what it means to be in deveikut/chey’rut. It means there is no “you” who is doing this work, but you are simply surrendered to the unfolding of the merkavah as it carries you to your assigned destiny. This is what Moshe is subtly telling Yehoshua and the people: “Don’t worry, be strong, have faith, have courage, and the merkavah, as an expression of the Divine, will carry you through all of existence.” Rabbi Gabriel Cousens, MD Torah as a Guide to Enlightenment (Parsha VaYelekh)
