We are seeking a SQL Server DBA, Wichita, KS area, 90-125k, relo available {PSSSD}-FB Our Client Company develops, markets and supports healthcare practice workflow solutions that are easy to purchase, implement, learn, use and adopt. They are currently seeking a SQL Server DBA, in the Wichita, KS area. Salary range is 90-125k depending on experience. The successful candidate will have the experience necessary to perform the following functions, among others: Manage and support high performing mission critical database platforms Install, configure, and maintain database instances; create various database objects, create users with appropriate roles and levels of security Perform database performance analysis, capacity planning, system sizing and ongoing maintenance/tuning to ensure maximum performance and availability Assist application development teams with planning and implementing database changes as well as query / job optimization Lead strategic planning process including forecasting, research and selection of new tools and technologies Provide strategic and tactical direction in the area of database management and maintenance of enterprise data and database infrastructure Monitor and manage custom backup/restore and disaster recovery plans Support on-going initiative of documenting and implementing best practices Work closely with business, application development teams, data center teams, and external consultants to develop database solutions that solve customers’ business problems Evaluate current database environments (hardware/software) and make recommendations that will meet our current and future business needs Participate in 24X7 on-call rotation Education/Experience Required BS/MS in Computer Engineering/Science or related field required 4+ years of hands-on SQL Server administration experience Must have 3+ years of T-SQL programming and performance tuning experience Proven track record managing SQL Server 2000, 2005, and 2008 Instances in a Standalone and Clustered configuration Experience with MS SQL replication and other high availability solutions Extensive experience with different backup/restore and disaster recovery solutions Expert level experience in administering large databases in a mission critical environment In depth understanding of the Microsoft SQL Server best practices Solid knowledge of the SQL Server storage design and best practices Strong knowledge and experience with computer hardware including servers, networks, SAN technologies, I/O subsystems, etc. Solid experience and troubleshooting skills with Windows 2003 and Windows 2008 operating systems Good communication skills, strong teamwork and organization skills. Positive attitude, problem solving skills, and self-initiative are required Preferred Microsoft SQL server certifications are a plus Experience with SQL Server 2012 Familiarity with SQL Server component services (e.g. SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) Experience managing databases on Windows 2012 operating system Other Considerations: Position requires being part of a team that provides 24x7 production support.
