We are very sorry to hear of the passing of Robin Williams. Seeing him always brought light & happiness & joy, yet with an emotional depth & meaning. Hopefully, though, this will prompt people to start to deal with how big a problem suicide is. According to calculations I did, about 1 out of every 67 Americans dies from suicide. But no one talks about this. Its easy to tell people to get help. But the real problem is people not accepting/internalizing/admitting to themselves they have a problem. Especially among artists, people told they are depressed or bipolar often respond that thats the way theyre meant to be, thats their true self, that meds would make them someone else. Thats often the problem. Only by more awareness & discussion can progress be made on that fundamental obstacle.
