We can make Minneapolis a city without landfills, without garbage dumps, and without dangerous pollution from trash incinerators. Minneapolis recycles or composts 37 percent of its garbage. Seattle recycles 56 percent of their trash, and San Francisco recycles 77 percent. We can do better. Our city is already a leader in environmental sustainability. Now let’s make Minneapolis a garbage-free city.
