We complain about players being too rough with Messi. He is 5 foot 7 and thin, yet every time he gets the ball hes attacked and sometimes even rugby tackled. But Pele and Maradona know this all too well. Peles knee was rendered useless in the 1966 World Cup by Portugese and Bulgarians, who would kick his shin until something would break. Maradonas time in Spain was filled with very harsh tackles, sometimes disgustingly dirty tackles. People were surprised he escaped career-ending fatal blows. Lesson learnt: There is only one way to stop the greatest...and its not by playing fairly. -MAK
