We do declare that theres no need to beware of Claire! - TopicsExpress

We do declare that theres no need to beware of Claire! Approximately eight years old, Claire is a Beagle mix who arrived at the Harnett County Animal Shelter in North Carolina on March 10th. Claire was one of several Beagles surrendered to the shelter that day by the same owner, who was a hunter. Chances are, these dogs no longer met the owners standards for hunting. Now Claire and the others were in grave danger at the shelter. On March 18th, Madeline White contacted us to see if we could assist with Claires vet costs if Jan Grafton and her Juliets House Rescue in North Carolina pulled Claire. We agreed to help. Claire was safely out of the shelter and off to a temporary foster home the same day. Initial vetting revealed two problems: Claire needed dental care and she was heartworm positive. Claire had her dental work done on March 31st. Several teeth had to be extracted. She received her heartworm treatment on April 8th. Jan shared this with us about Claire: She may look old with her gray muzzle, but she sure doesnt act it! Claire does really well with other dogs, is fine with cats, and loves to cuddle. Shes a little dog (only 14 pounds), but she has a great appetite; if I dont watch her every second, she is in the cats food in a heartbeat! Shes very interested in everything. Shes just an all-around sweetie! Please donate to Claires Fund - $100 raised of $247 goal: raisingaidfordogsatrisk.org/claire #radardogs #rescuedogs #funditforward Fund It Forward!
