We had a very busy day today. Here are some updates: We captured 15 geese today. They came from Walmart in crownpoint, mcalpine creek park, condos off orchard lake drive and some near value city. We have found no evidence of the cause but we have found no other water birds with oil such as mallards or herons. This leads us to believe the source is not the water but that someone could be intentionally targeting geese. We found dead geese in the mcalpine creek park pond today. A preliminary necropsy shows cause of death is drowning. Oiled birds can not float and will die if they get into the water. We are focusing on capturing geese right now in lieu of washing because any remaining geese outside when the freeze hits on Wednesday will die. We do have more auction items to post.
