We had the pleasure of being invited as an exhibitor to the Mastermix Open Day at The Music Factory HQ in Rotherham. It was great to catch up with our friends and to meet with our members, other DJs and representatives from the manufacturers we regularly see at industry events. It was a fabulous day and we believe that we had members from all of our branch catchment areas attend the event, so thank you to everyone who racked up some miles to be there. The team at Mastermix really did pull out all of the stops and they should be congratulated on putting together the event. There was a lot going on and there was something for everyone - from face painting, bargains from Discotechnology Professional P.A. & Lighting Centre, an opportunity to meet the producers, food and drink, prize draws, advanced access to the Autumn Sale, sound and lighting demonstrations, the Subsafe Audio product, merchandising and branding opportunities, etc. There was a fantastic Anatomy of a Mix from Paul Dakeyne where we were given insider knowledge of New Orders Blue Monday track and a dissection of Pauls homage to one of his favourite songs. A remix that had the DJs all asking where they can buy a copy from! There was also a great opportunity to meet the legend that is Pat Sharp. We also had a chance to listen to a new mix that hed put together with the Mastermix team and this, we believe, will be the first of many tracks from the partnership.
