We have been using the original diamond and precious jewellery cleaner for years, a blue clear liquid in a tall bottle. It is brilliant for cleaning all kinds of rings and earrings etc. we have nearly run out of it and looked on the internet to get some more. From the makers it was $35 a bottle. My husband happened to take a smell at the contents and said it smelled very much like Windex, So he did a test on 2 identical gold earrings which were dull and stained, soaking them for 5 mins each, a light scrub with a soft toothbrush and a rinse. He showed me the 2 earrings to see if I could see the difference. I could honestly not see the difference, they had both cleaned as well as each other. Only difference is the Windex is one hell of a lot cheaper. Guess who is using Windex from now on??
