We have had a serious split in our leadership in Ocean Springs - TopicsExpress

We have had a serious split in our leadership in Ocean Springs since before the last elections, and it is hurting the city. It started even before Mayor Morans last election, during which she and the public were shown that every single alderman allowed anyone who would run against her to use his endorsement against the Mayor as the sitting Alderman. In other words, all the Alderman acquiesced in or actively conspired to use their official position to bring down a Mayor who is wildly popular among her constituency and who got re-elected anyway by a fine margin. I know Connie spoke against barring Psychamore, and from that point it became the obsession of the Board to keep it out of town, regardless of the law and the clear vision of many of us that they were leading the city into a fight that was unwinable, would end up costing a huge pile of tax money, and was just plain mean spirited. Now we have arrived at the judgment day, and the money is coming due. The persons who are responsible for this fiasco should conspire now to sum up the total that they have cost the rest of us, the City of Ocean Springs, including the City Attorneys enormous bills, and divide them equally between them and pay their portion. If they will not, they should resign from office or be removed by any legal means possible. If not, vote them out, ASAP. This squabbling has gone on long enough, on every level and it never ceases, never. I AM GOING TO KEEP MY PROMISE. I call on Matt McDonnell to apologize to the Mayor and the electorate and to stop this guerilla war that has gone on far too long, to pay his portion of the damages the city owes because of the role he played in this fiasco, and resign. Who will be next? Lets see what happens now. Your move, gentlemen. There are many events to discuss, you know, not just this one.
