We have made a decision. It has been coming on slowly, and we agreed this morning. Were not going to grow anything this year. No gardens. Zip. Well harvest stuff like asparagus and berries, but no planting. We took an inventory downstairs and decided that wed get by fine just using whats down there already and filling in the few gaps with stuff from the Mennonite produce place. Im tired. Daves tired. Were going to take a summer off and swim every day that we can. And Im not going to sabotage it by suggesting that we plant a few tomato plants. Nothing. Period. Were going to empty all the compost bins over the summer and spread it all over both of the gardens and just let it rot, and then plow really well in the fall and get ready for the following spring. I feel like were committing a huge crime.
