We have received the following security alert & would like to share it to all our clients. Read the security alerts below. Please note Zomba-Limbe road is not safe now. Several cars have been stolen along the road. Do not travel at night. Do not pick anyone on the way. Those of us in and around Blantyre beware at Shoprite, between Water Board and Agrimal Ltd, between Wenela and clock tower, and Kwacha Round About towards the army camp. The short cut from PUMA to AFROX and BP&P. All mini bus stages in Limbe, i.e. Hardware, Kapenga and Limbe market as many businessmen and women come from various districts to buy merchandise. Apart from point number 1 below, thugs in Blantyre are using a lady with cream white Toyota bubble shape saloon who poses as if she is stranded and needs your help. This is mainly happening at night and once you stop to render your help, you have given yourself. PLEASE TAKE CARE. A well wisher sent the message below. You will find it important. This is to warn of all the danger areas.**** 1. *There is a vehicle registration MC, white in colour, Toyota Hilux pick up, single cabin* suspected to being used by notorious criminal vehicle hijackers hovering around Lilongwe city to robbing people. Have reported the matter to Police in Kanengo and Lingadzi. At 12.23 hrs the vehicle was tracking a customer up to her residence gate at area 25. I suggest we should also alert all clients and guards to take precautionary measures when they come across this vehicle whenever they may happen to be. Also *VW Golf mark 3 green colour *is a suspect car for the same issues. 2. On another development an officer was robbed a laptop at a robot near Lilongwe Natural Sanctuary while in a government vehicle. The robbers just opened the rear door, stole the computer bag and closed back, then off into the bush. The time was too short for the owner to react. 3. A similar incident occurred near Lilongwe town hall roundabout when the car driver on a queue heard a noise as if his vehicle was hit from behind by another car, and when he tried to open the window MK45, 000 was stolen together with cell phones and other valuables 4. Other similar roads include Kamuzu Central hospital round about, Paul Kagame road roundabout and between Paul Kagame and Kamuzu Central roundabout, and all T-junctions where traffic lights exist. 5. The famous shopping complex where Game/Spar/Pep/Hyper store are located is also another serious area. Vehicles parked are found open with valuables gone by some well dressed gentlemen who look like the actual owners of the car. Technique used: they will send one of them to follow you up to inside the shop and will call to alert the robber friends as soon as you are on the till just before you pay 6. The long forgotten crime of stealing mobile phones is back! (*Mukamaliza kuyankhula mutipatse foniyo*). This is common in the Bwalo la njovu area 1 including devil street and Lilongwe. Important: this is a reminder for us to be vigilant when we are travelling either walking or driving around town, to and from work or shopping area even to and from visiting friends. The list of these robberies is endless. PLEASE be alert it may happen to You.
