Well, my essay is accidentally over 100,000 reads and I think I unintentionally struck a nerve with a lot of people. I wrote it for my friends but I guess I should have considered that my post and profile are public...ugh. Some people are saying Im out of touch with black people, Im myopic, I have no perspective. I guess the first 13 years of my life growing up at 16217 Nelaview, East Cleveland, OH (to some the hood, to me a place I remember fondly) doesnt count. My time at racially diverse Cleveland Heights High doesnt count. My going back there and coaching one of the only predominantly black golf teams in NE Ohio doesnt count. My family of mostly poor black individuals doesnt count. My grandfather being very close with and marching with MLK doesnt count. What does it really matter though? Its just an opinion. Im going to stop reading the comments because a lot of my points were misunderstood or all together missed...I offer my sincerest apologies if you were offended. Back to posting about sports, cats and #gainz.
